The TA146 is a high-quality 1.8 metre USB 2.0 Y-cable designed and built specifically for use with PicoScope oscilloscopes, and featuring 20 AWG conductors for minimal resistance. This also reduces the chance of voltage drop caused by inferior USB ports on some PCs and laptops. As well as reducing voltage drop, it prevents noise that could be caused by an unreliable ground connection and poor screening in inferior cables.
Standard USB 2.0 cables have one Type A plug which plugs into the PC, and one Type B jack which connects into the instrument. The TA146 Y-cable has an additional Type A plug which can be plugged into a second USB port for an additional 500 mA for use with some USB-powered PicoScope oscilloscopes, such as the PicoScope 5000 Series.
